Man Utd legend Paul Ince charged with drink driving after black Range Rover collides with central reservation

<p>Former United and England midfielder Ince has been charged with drink driving and will appear before Chester Magistrates on Friday - as the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14858729/Paul-Ince-arrested-charged-drink-driving.html" target="_blank"><em>Daily Mail</em></a> reports. A black Range Rover collided with a central reservation near Heswall Golf Club in Cheshire on Saturday.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Ince won the Premier League twice with United as well as two FA Cups and also made 53 appearances for England. He has had managerial roles since retiring as a player, most recently leading Reading from February 2022 to April 2023.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At around 5pm on Saturday 28 June, police were called following reports of a collision on Chester High Road, Neston.</p><p>'The incident involved a black Range Rover which had collided with the central reservation barrier. Officers attended the scene and arrested a 57-year-old man. </p><p>"Paul Ince, of Neston, has since been charged with drink driving. Ince has been bailed to appear at Chester Magistrates' Court on Friday 18 July."</p>

WHAT THE POLICE SAID

<p>Ince, who also took in spells at Liverpool, Inter, Middlesbrough and Wolves in his playing career, has been bailed and will appear in court on Friday.</p>
