<p>Tottenham reportedly placed a £70m ($94.5m) offer for the Cameroonian forward earlier this year, and while the Spurs later denied making such a bid, the Bees have now set that amount as the 'yardstick' for United to meet, reports <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6492733/2025/07/15/transfer-news-latest-liverpool-manchester-united-arsenal-real-madrid-analysis/" target="_blank"><em>The Athletic</em></a>. United negotiators, who have been <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/man-utd-transfer-deadline-ruben-amorim-bryan-mbeumo-deal-pre-season/blt3804e543255955a1" target="_blank">asked to speed up the transfer talks by manager Ruben Amorim</a>, are now patiently waiting for Brentford to reduce their demands.</p>

<p><a href="https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1944743587171709295" target="_blank"><em>Fabrizio Romano</em></a> earlier reported that Brentford have started looking for Mbeumo's alternatives in the transfer market and have reportedly <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/man-utd-handed-boost-bryan-mbeumo-chase-brentford-target-former-chelsea-star-replacement/bltcc93b209eafca7cb#csf28ef6bb9e40cc44" target="_blank">set their eyes on former Chelsea player Omari Hutchinson</a>, who joined Ipswich Town last summer. The Red Devils are now pinning their hopes on the Bees' successful transfer activity involving Hutchinson, which could open the door for Mbeumo's exit. </p>
