<p>According to Corriere dello Sport, via<a href="https://sportwitness.co.uk/ligue-1-attacker-has-joining-manchester-united-as-a-priority-red-devils-havent-moved-yet/" target="_blank"> Sport Witness</a>, soon-to-be<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/best-2025-free-agents-start-negotiating-transfers-january-ranked/blt60db9fe3de14b200" target="_blank"> free agent David</a> would prefer a move to United, Barcelona, or Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain. However, his preference would be to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/seven-premier-league-clubs-eyeing-move-jonathan-david-spurs-newcastle-man-utd-arsenal-contract-runs-down-competition-european-giants/blted8421f00d5f1fbc" target="_blank">head to the Premier League</a> for next season.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Despite that, the report adds that United have not made any advances to sign the 25-year-old - even though the Canadian international would be available on a free transfer. The Red Devils missed out on Liam Delap, who <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/chelsea-confirm-liam-delap-arrival-ipswich-seeing-off-transfer-competition-from-man-utd/blt258e613836df0ae0" target="_blank">swapped Ipswich Town for Chelsea</a>, and they have doubts about <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/rasmus-hojlund-gives-green-light-to-inter-move-as-man-utd-striker-plots-serie-a-return/blt650f676eb1d493b3" target="_blank">Rasmus Hojlund</a> and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/joshua-zirkzee-man-utd-exit-reaches-juventus-agreement-thiago-motta/blt173e98436fd2faf4" target="_blank">Joshua Zirkzee</a>. But it seems David is not in their thinking for now.</p>

<p>He told <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6400485/2025/06/03/jonathan-david-transfer-ambition/" target="_blank">The Athletic</a> this week: "I want a club with ambition that wants to do something. Obviously, I would love to fight for titles, to win titles. A team that’s competitive, that has ambition, really, with a good sporting project."</p>

<p>It remains to be seen if David will get his dream move, or perhaps stay in Ligue 1 - just as team-mate <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-utd-arsenal-snubbed-angel-gomes-join-french-rival-premier-league-transfer-links/blta00b0d67c3809688" target="_blank">Angel Gomes may do</a>. But his goal return of 109 goals in 232 games for the French outfit is not to be sniffed at. </p>
