<p>Jackson saw red against Flamengo for a reckless studs-up challenge on Ayrton Lucas just minutes after being introduced as a substitute during <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/chelsea-player-ratings-vs-flamengo-nicolas-jackson-brazilian-side-robert-sanchez/blt90a4ac1dab79dc42" target="_blank">Chelsea's 3-1 defeat to the Brazilian side</a> in the Club World Cup last week. The Senegalese striker subsequently took to social media to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/nicolas-jackson-apology-second-costly-red-card-chelsea-club-world-cup-defeat-flamengo/bltc73061ff1d13f029#csf84d8f722fe49150" target="_blank">apologise for his actions after the final whistle</a>, stating he is "angry" with himself and taking full responsibility for his actions.   </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Jackson's team-mate Cucurella was quizzed on how the Chelsea squad reacted to the striker's reckless behaviour, to which the Spaniard said: "Yes, for sure it's been accepted. What happened is just football. This game is sometimes about mistakes. He made a mistake, but we have forgotten about this. We'll miss him in the next game, but we have other players that can do his job." </p>

WHAT CUCURELLA SAID

<p>Jackson has been <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/nicolas-jackson-ban-chelsea-striker-club-world-cup-games-fifa-increase-punishment-red-card-flamengo-loss/bltb2a985461eb97eff#csef5ae09e2cb40bc9" target="_blank">handed a two-match suspension by FIFA</a> for the rough challenge. This means that the player will miss the club's final group game against ES Tunis on Wednesday and then the round of 16 clash if the Blues qualify for the knockout stage.  </p>

<p>The Senegal international's suspension opens the door to new Blues striker Liam Delap, who is aiming to establish himself as the club's number one striker at the tournament.   </p>
