Marcus Rashford move to AC Milan gathers pace! Man Utd outcast holds talks with Italian giants' recruitment team over loan deal

<p>Rashford's agents flew out to Italy on Tuesday to open initial talks with Milan's recruitment staff, according to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6045126/2025/01/07/rashford-milan-loan-man-utd/?source=emp_shared_article" target="_blank">The Athletic</a>. The Rossoneri are currently "assessing" potential options for the January window following the departure of manager Paulo Fonseca&nbsp;and arrival of replacement Sergio Conceicao. However, a loan may not be straightforward to complete as Milan possess plenty of attacking options already, in the shape of Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham, while Rashford's wages would have to be "heavily subsidised" by United to make the deal attractive to the Serie A side.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p><a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/revealed-reason-marcus-rashford-dropped-ruben-amorim-extended-man-utd-exile-attacker-punished-rule-break/blt0c2c9cb5c5acd2c6" target="_blank">Rashford has been frozen out by new United manager</a> Ruben Amorim and appears to be looking for a way out in January. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/marcus-rashford-ac-milan-enter-race-sign-man-utd-outcast-make-one-demand/bltbc43fbba9502dba5#csbd0d83162a5f9191" target="_blank">Milan have emerged as a potential option</a>, while <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/jadon-sancho-route-marcus-rashford-borussia-dortmund-considering-shock-swoop-for-man-utd-outcast-competition-premier-league-clubs/bltb8f67db32897e64a#csc671c8c0aa1f99bb" target="_blank">Borussia Dortmund and Juventus</a> have also been linked with the 27-year-old. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/marcus-rashford-reject-three-massive-saudi-arabia-offers-man-utd-january-transfer/bltef8302b37164e4f5" target="_blank">Saudi clubs have also approached Rashford</a> but have been knocked back by the forward, who is not interested in a move to the Middle East.</p>

<p>Milan legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who played with Rashford at United and now holds an executive role with the Rossoneri, has <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/ac-milan-zlatan-ibrahimovic-endorses-move-marcus-rashford-explore-complicated-loan-man-utd-outcast/blt6e0862dd9dde3cdc#cs6a78bddcc712b383" target="_blank">endorsed a move for the Red Devils</a> academy graduate and would be happy for his club to bring him to Italy.</p>

DID YOU KNOW?

<p>Rashford has not played for Manchester United since featuring against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on December 12 and a return to the side looks unlikely as things stand. He's expected to be sidelined again when Amorim's side return to action on Sunday in the FA Cup against Arsenal.</p><p></p>
