<p>Zubimendi is reportedly close to joining Arsenal, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/martin-zubimendi-set-for-arsenal-medical-transfer-real-sociedad-nears-completion/blt3212aa0cce3b4d98#cs6e29a5fe2b77cb86" target="_blank">with a medical seemingly set to be completed after a £51 million ($69m) deal was agreed between the two clubs</a>. Now, though, the midfielder appears to have left the door ajar to the prospect of remaining in Spain.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Zubimendi has claimed that he is not sure if he will end the summer in Spain, although he did confirm that he has yet to undergo a medical with the Gunners. The Spain international is a top target for the north London club but <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/martin-zubimendi-snub-arsenal-real-sociedad-la-liga-side-sell-star-midfielder/blt2005d5097d08ff5f" target="_blank">both Sociedad's president and technical director have hinted he could stay</a>.</p>

<p>Zubimendi told <a href="https://www.noticiasdegipuzkoa.eus/reala/2025/06/03/zubimendi-verano-diferente-terminara-9714309.html" target="_blank">Radiogaceta de los Deportes</a>: "Of course there are options, but it's true that it seems like&nbsp;it's going to be a different, long summer, and I don't know how it will end. I don't think thinking about that right now is my priority. I'm here with the national team, which I think is already quite demanding, and if I have to say something, then I will."</p><p>Asked about the reports that he had undergone a medical, he replied: &nbsp;"It's an example of what surrounds football. Many times I wake up in the morning and read things that I didn't know I had done. That was a clear example. It's true that I don't take it very seriously, but anyway, I uploaded those photos to emphasize a little that it wasn't exactly the reality that was happening."</p>
