'Means the world'- Mason Greenwood sends out emotional message to Marseille fans after finishing season as joint-top scorer in Ligue 1

<p>The former Manchester United forward scored a brace on Saturday as Marseille finished second in Ligue 1 and secured Champions League football for next season. The goals also mean that Greenwood has wrapped up his first season in French football by <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/mason-greenwood-didier-drogba-marseille-chelsea-legend-ousmane-dembele-as-ligue-1-joint-top-scorer/blt374f609d839f6cc4" target="_blank">finishing joint top of the goalscoring standings with PSG's Ousmane Dembele</a>.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Greenwood has finished the season on a high but <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/mason-greenwood-breaks-silence-marseille-future-honest-verdict-season-roberto-de-zerbi/blt9ce8f1e61377cea2" target="_blank">there have been some difficulties along the way</a>. He came in for criticism from manager Roberto De Zerbi, and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/unrecognisable-mason-greenwood-savage-rating-dropped-bench-marseille-disappointing-defeat-lens/blt935250f95cec19dd" target="_blank">was even dropped from the team</a>, earlier this year but ends the campaign with 21 goals from 32 league appearances. The 23-year-old took to social media after Marseille's final game of the campaign to express his feelings about his first season at the club and to thank supporters for their backing.</p>
