<p>With Cunha arriving from Wolves and United also keen on Brentford star Mbeumo, Mount has been warned he faces a tough assignment to solidify his place at Old Trafford moving forward.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>The England international has struggled with injuries since making the transfer to the Red Devils from Chelsea back in 2023, but he finished the campaign in decent form, scoring a brace in a 4-1 win over Athletic Club which helped his side reach the Europa League final. However, with fresh faces arriving to improve Ruben Amorim's squad, former United assistant manager Rene Meulensteen has tipped Mount to struggle next term.</p>

<p>Speaking to&nbsp;<a href="https://yaysweepstakes.com/" target="_blank">YaySweepstakes.com</a>, Meulensteen said: "We have seen glimpses of Mason Mount when he got more minutes, he showed great energy and popped up in good positions in the box which was promising. </p><p>"He has scored some really important goals for United, but the question will now be where he fits in with Matheus Cunha and maybe Bryan Mbeumo. </p><p>"He can only play in one of those positions off the front because he isn’t going to be a striker and Cunha is not going to be on the bench. It's going to be hard for Mount next year."</p>

WHAT MEULENSTEEN SAID

<p>Mount will be targeting an injury-free 2025-26 campaign as he looks to stake a claim for a regular starting place under Amorim, even with the new faces joining the United squad. </p>
