Hummels has joined Daniele De Rossi's Roma on a one-year deal after leaving Dortmund in the summer. The World Cup-winning German defender replaces former Manchester United centre-back Chris Smalling in Roma's backline after the English star ended his stint in Italy to sign for Saudi Pro League club Al-Fayha on a two-year deal.

Born in 1988, the German is a central defender with enormous international experience. He has over 600 appearances in all competitions, national and international, 78 games with his own national team, as well as 16 titles won between club and national team, including the 2014 World Cup."During his career he wore the shirts of Borussia Dortmund (in two periods of time) and Bayern Munich.
