<p>Mac Allister will miss the first Merseyside derby of the season after receiving a yellow card in the first half of Liverpool's game against Newcastle United for a foul on Fabian Schar.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>The booking was Mac Allister's fifth of the season. As such, he will serve a one-match suspension. He'll be available again when Liverpool host Fulham on December 14.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Mac Allister is now set for a mini break after picking up a suspension in the Champions League as well. He'll miss the game against Girona on Tuesday, having received three bookings in Europe.</p>
