<p>The Dutch defender started in <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/man-city-player-ratings-vs-plymouth-argyle-kevin-de-bruyne-nico-o-reilly/blt5807a3e2f43ae9fa" target="_blank">City's 3-1 win over Plymouth in the FA Cup on Saturday</a>, but he did not return for the second half, with Ruben Dias replacing him. On Monday, Ake shared his photograph from the hospital where he successfully underwent surgery on his fractured foot.</p>

<p>Ake has been plagued with multiple injuries throughout the campaign and has remained on the sidelines for spells of the season. The defender has made only 18 appearances for the club across all competitions and has started in only eight Premier League matches.</p>
