'The relationship we have is incredible' - Nico Williams explains Arsenal transfer snub as he reveals deep love of Athletic Club

<p>Barcelona tried and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/revealed-why-barcelona-failed-sign-nico-williams-guarantees-athletic-club-star/blt2f8842bd31e1d257" target="_blank">failed to sign Williams last summer,</a> and Arsenal are <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/arsenal-nico-williams-athletic-club-release-clause-january-signing/blt0941d8a3f8c9417f" target="_blank">keen on recruiting him in 2025,</a> but for the time being, he is very happy at Athletic Club. The winger says the relationship he has with the club and the fans is "incredible".</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>“This relationship we have at the heart of the club is incredible. Everyone respects everyone else, which is incredible," he told <a href="https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Nico-williams-j-adorais-wilfried-zaha-a-crystal-palace/1544912" target="_blank">France Football</a>. "This atmosphere, I’ll never have it anywhere else. I decided to stay because of that. I took the decision I thought was the right one. I’m happy, and I’m trying to do my best."</p>

WHAT NICO WILLIAMS SAID
