<p>The Gunners, who are looking to add a new winger to their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window, have been <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/nico-williams-arsenal-barcelona-given-up-signing-athletic-links-explained-lamine-yamal/blt446b0505e7f7e9af#cs305687f004d98ea5" target="_blank">strongly linked with a move for Spain and Athletic Club sensation Williams</a>. The Blues are also looking forward to adding new attacking players to their roster to bolster the team ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. </p>

<p>Amid the two Premier League giants' interest in the player, the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14659329/Man-United-cuts-Sir-Jim-Ratcliffe-Confidential.html" target="_blank"><em>Daily Mail</em></a> reports that Williams' representatives are demanding more than £400,000 per week in wages. The report also adds that Athletic Club could offer a new contract to the 22-year-old, which will see a revised release clause. Earlier, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/arsenal-nico-williams-athletic-club-release-clause-january-signing/blt0941d8a3f8c9417f#cs53d962888427a8bc" target="_blank">the price was set at €58 million (£48m/$60m)</a>.  </p>

<p>Barcelona were on the verge of sealing a move for Williams last summer before he decided to stay back at Athletic Club. With time, though, the Catalan side's interest in the player has fizzled out as they are <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/nico-williams-arsenal-barcelona-given-up-signing-athletic-links-explained-lamine-yamal/blt446b0505e7f7e9af#csa06c84046b33b6bc" target="_blank">no longer pursuing a move</a>, according to <a href="https://www.marca.com/futbol/barcelona/2025/04/17/barca-cierra-carpeta-nico-fichara-nueve-extremo.html" target="_blank"><em>Marca</em></a>. </p>
