<p>Forest have secured a place in the top seven of the Premier League and are in with a chance of qualifying for the Champions League heading into the last game of the 2024-25 campaign.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Despite their rise up the table - Forest finished 17th last season - the prospect of the Portuguese manager leaving is being talked about within the club, <a href="https://www.footmercato.net/a397303053765337019-nottingham-forest-nuno-espirito-santo-pourrait-quitter-le-club-en-fin-de-saison" target="_blank"><em>Foot Mercato</em></a> reports. Meanwhile, <a href="https://www.relevo.com/futbol/serie-a/roma-tienta-nuno-volver-champions-20250520152610-nt.html" target="_blank"><em>Relevo</em></a> reports that Italian side Roma are interested in hiring him.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Espirito Santo and club owner Evangelos Marinakis were <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/scandalous-owner-gary-neville-tells-nuno-espirito-santo-quit-nottingham-forest-evangelos-marinakis-storms-pitch/blt3b6fef6dd9054fb7" target="_blank">involved in a heated confrontation on the field</a> recently, though the latter <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/no-confrontation-nottingham-forest-furious-statement-owner-evangelos-marinakis-nuno-espirito-santo/blt3856b2e580ec9fb4" target="_blank">denied there was a problem between the two in a furious statement</a>. The former Wolves and Tottenham boss took charge of Forest in late-2023 and helped guide them to Premier League safety on the final game of last season. His current contract runs until 2026.</p>
