Forest Green may be battling relegation, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/forest-green-rovers-sack-troy-deeney-after-six-games-in-charge-days-after-babies-comments-at-players/blt9531c86718c57978" target="_blank">having churned through two managers already this season</a>, but they flew out of the blocks on Tuesday night. Emmanuel Osadebe was played through within just three minutes of the start, and he left Eoghan O'Connell in the dust before finishing expertly past Arthur Okonkwo. That early blow seemed to knock Phil Parkinson's side as they failed to create any clear-cut chances in the first period, mustering just one shot on target despite dominating possession. Wrexham's frustrations at the break were personified by a visibly furious James McClean, who booted the ball away at the whistle.Parkinson will have been expecting a reaction from his half-time team talk, but that was not forthcoming. Wrexham pushed and pushed but time and again were let down by their profligate finishing. Second-half substitute Jack Marriott fired a decent opportunity into the side netting while Wrexham's best chance came from Elliot Lee's deflected cross, which flew out for a corner. Forest Green looked to have held on before a rash challenge saw Mullin win a penalty in stoppage time. The Red Dragons striker stepped up to take and rifled home straight down the middle, ending his seven-game goal drought and rescuing a point for Parkinson's side at the death.

Despite Mullin's heroics, the draw means Wrexham's poor league run continues. Parkinson's side have now won just two of their last eight League Two outings, having won seven of the preceding ten.

The centre-back was on his heels for the build up and was easily outpaced by the Forest Green striker. Elsewhere, he looked shaky playing out from the back as Wrexham continued to misplace passes in the first period. Unfortunately for Parkinson and Red Dragons fans, the Irishman was forced off just after the hour with an apparent injury, adding to their woes in that department.

THE BIG LOSER

Wrexham will look to put another poor result behind them as their push for back-to-back promotions may now require the play-offs. The Red Dragons are next in action at home to Accrington Stanley on Saturday.
