'I just worry' - Paul Scholes reveals concerns over Matheus Cunha transfer and warns Wolves star Man Utd 'is such a bad place to go'

<p><a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/matheus-cunha-optimistic-joining-man-utd-in-gbp62-5m-transfer-red-devils-top-target/blt48774d871bc71dea#cs79647d90f2bcd369" target="_blank">United have been linked with a summer move to sign Cunha from Wolves</a>. The centre-forward has scored 15 goals in 29 Premier League games this season, and he has a release clause worth £62.5 million ($84m) in his contract. That has sparked interest from a variety of clubs, with <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/man-utd-battle-arsenal-matheus-cunha-wolves-star-agent-talks-gbp62-5m-transfer/bltd32182a7c34bb4e8#cs0f554712cc89cf2f" target="_blank">United facing competition from Chelsea and Arsenal</a>. </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p><a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/arsenal-bound-matheus-cunha-ready-to-take-the-next-step-as-brazilian-says-he-has-made-it-clear-to-wolves-that-he-wants-summer-transfer/blte503c7881fd3a831?utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_id=kp0y2tvoffhdawxg&amp;utm_source_platform=msn&amp;utm_source=msn_en" target="_blank">Cunha has confirmed that he hopes to leave Molineux this summer</a> amid the interest in his signature, but Scholes believes he could pick a better destination than Old Trafford. Under Ruben Amorim, the club are currently languishing in 14th, and have not won any of their last five league games. Ironically, Wolves, who have won all of their last five, are above the Red Devils in the table. </p>

<p>Scholes wrote in his <a href="https://www.tntsports.co.uk/football/premier-league/2024-2025/paul-scholes-column-arne-slot-liverpool-trent-alexander-arnold-future-real-madrid-manchester-united-matheus-cunha_sto23177564/story.shtml" target="_blank">TNT Sports column</a>: "He looks like he’s got the attributes that Ruben Amorim wants. He knows that physically, his team are just not strong or quick enough, so Matheus Cunha is obviously athletic, and he’s got quality with 15 league goals this season. I just worry for any signing coming to Manchester United at the minute. It just feels like it’s such a bad place to go. </p><p>"The quality of play right now is so poor. And with Cunha, is he a centre-forward or is he a wide player? There’s no doubt that he has quality and of course, it would be nice to sign him, but I worry about where he fits in. You can sign the best three players in the world, and I think they’ll struggle coming into this team at the minute, but they’ve got to start somewhere."</p>
