Paulo Dybala set for incredibly lucrative Saudi Pro League transfer as he waves goodbye to Roma

The Argentina international has already come to an agreement with the Saudi Pro League team over a three-year contract worth a whopping €75 million (£64m/$84m), reports <a href="https://sport.sky.it/calciomercato/2024/08/21/dybala-roma-calciomercato-news" target="_blank">Sky Sport</a> in Italy. His agent is set to meet with officials at Roma to negotiate his exit.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Serie A side will now have to decided whether or not to accept the €3m offer for Dybala that the Saudi outfit are expected to make, hold out for a larger fee, or demand that the attacker stays put with one year left on his contract.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

The 30-year-old World Cup winner joined Roma from Juventus in a free transfer in 2022 and has scored 34 goals in just 78 appearances for the capital club. He was dropped to the bench for their first Serie A game of the season - a 0-0 draw against Cagliari - and replaced Nicola Zalewski for the final 20 minutes.

The five-time Serie A winner will hope Roma and Al-Qadsiah can come to an agreement to free him up to make the move to the Middle East. Al-Qadsiah start their Saudi Pro League campaign with a home game against Al-Fateh on Friday, while Roma take on Empoli in Serie A on Sunday.
