Reports: Domènec Torrent’s signing with Chivas falls through as parties fail to reach agreement

<p>Domènec Torrent will not be the head coach of Chivas for the Apertura 2025 season of Liga MX after<a href="https://www.am.com.mx/superdeportivo/futbol/2025/5/14/exclusivo-domnec-torrent-no-sera-el-dt-de-chivas-739981.html" target="_self"> a failure to reach an agreement on both sides.</a> The Spaniard had emerged as the top candidate to lead the renewal of the<em> Red and Whites</em>, but after failed negotiations, the Guadalajara team will continue its search for a new manager.</p><p>On Tuesday night, rumors surfaced about a possible deal between Torrent and <em>El Rebaño</em>, but according to reporter César Luis Merlo, the financial demands of the coach and what Chivas was willing to offer were too far apart. As a result, negotiations have completely fallen through.</p><p>Despite this, Pep Guardiola’s former assistant could still remain in Liga MX, as he also interviewed with Monterrey this week. <em>Rayados</em> recently parted ways with Martín Demichelis after being eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Clausura 2025 and are looking for a new leader, as they will be competing in the Club World Cup in the United States in about a month.</p><p>According to the same source, Gabriel Milito, along with Matías Almeyda, is also being considered by Monterrey. Other reports indicate that Milito is also one of the finalists for the Chivas job, which was left vacant by Gerardo Espinoza this season after failing to qualify for the Liguilla.</p><p></p>
