<p>However, convincing the 22-year-old to leave the Basque club in favour of a switch to north London is a complicated one for the Gunners as <a href="https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/nico-williams-arsenal-transfer-clause-34444078" target="_blank"><em>The Mirror</em></a><em> </em>reports that he will demand high wages ensure he is one of Europe's highest-paid players. Due to the tax differences between Bilbao and England, the Premier League team may have to offer more than £300,000 per week in order to match his demands.</p>

<p>Williams has been a first-team regular at Athletic Club again this season and has managed two goals and five assists across La Liga and the Europa League, lifting his side to fourth in the Spanish top flight and second in the continental competition.</p>
