<p>The Italian club could loan Wesley from Everton should the English side sign him for €30 million (£26m/$35m), according to <a href="https://sport.sky.it/calciomercato/2025/07/02/roma-wesley-everton-calciomercato-news" target="_blank"><em>Sky</em> in Italy.</a></p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Roma owner Dan Friedkin <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/everton-finally-find-buyer-billionaire-roma-owner-dan-friedkin-completes-toffees-takeover/bltc7412f379f8600b7" target="_blank">completed a takeover of Everton</a> by purchasing a 98.8 per cent stake in the club from Farhad Moshiri in December 2024. The multi-club ownership situation could allow Everton to purchase Wesley and send him on loan to Roma as a way to circumvent UEFA’s Financial Fair Play.</p>

<p>Roma appointed former Atalanta boss <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/claudio-ranieri-replacement-roma-gian-piero-gasperini-deal-atalanta/bltcb060d3cac02152c" target="_blank">Gian Piero Gasperini</a> as the successor to Claudio Ranieri, who took up a role in Roma’s management. One of the key positions in Gasperini’s style of play in wing back and this has been Roma’s main focus for reinforcement.</p>
