<p>The Portuguese inherited managerial reins at Old Trafford in November 2024 following the departure of Erik ten Hag, and was charged with the task of turning a disappointing season around. He picked up just one win from his opening eight games at the helm.</p>

There has been little improvement since then, with a record of 13 defeats in 25 Premier League games leaving United’s head coach “really embarrassed”.</p>
