Five or six Giallorossi supporters were met by police when they landed in England after causing disruptions on the flight from the Italian capital, <a href="https://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Europa-League/14-03-2024/brighton-roma-gruppo-di-tifosi-della-roma-fermato-dalla-polizia-a-londra.shtml" target="_blank">La Gazzetta dello Sport</a> reports. Police cars were ready on the landing strip at Stansted airport to detain the suspects.

The arrest of the Roma fans is just the latest controversy surrounding the tie. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/brighton-fans-stabbed-robbed-by-masked-gang-ahead-europa-league-tie-with-roma/bltf7323c4434a80ebd" target="_blank">Two Brighton fans were stabbed</a> in Rome ahead of the first leg of the Europa League last-16 tie, while the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/brighton-fans-subject-to-more-attacks-from-roma-supporters-with-bottles-coins-and-lighters-thrown-at-away-end-during-europa-league-thrashing-at-stadio-olimpico/bltcfa313c25038dce1" target="_blank">Italian fans threw bottles, lighters and coins at the away support during the game</a>.

Roma ran out 4-0 winners in the first leg of the European tie last week, with Paulo Dybala, Romelu Lukaku, Gianluca Mancini and Bryan Cristante all getting on the scoresheet to give Daniele De Rossi's team a significant advantage.
