<p>The Jamaican Football Federation confirmed that they have appointed 63-year-old McClaren as their new manager on Wednesday. WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>It was earlier reported that <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/why-steve-mcclaren-hasnt-travelled-us-man-utd-pre-season-tour/blt9f6c76d97b61a11c#csb59bf37af33782d4" target="_blank">McClaren did not travel with Erik ten Hag and the Red Devils squad</a> to the United States for their <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/man-utd-pre-season-2024-tour-fixtures-results-tickets-watch/blt40910657efdd28df" target="_blank">pre-season tour</a> as he was not fit to make the journey because he recently underwent surgery on his foot.</p>

<p>Since the addition of <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/ruud-van-nistelrooy-back-man-utd-coaching-staff-erik-ten-hag/bltcd7aa84fb54c3caf" target="_blank">Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake</a> to the Dutch manager's coaching staff, the Englishman's role was altered from assistant manager to senior first-team coach.</p>
