While the season saw the Lilywhites break their trophy duck, it also saw them suffer their worst Premier League campaign since 1976/77, when they suffered relegation to Division Two.</p>

<p>Near the end of the season, reports had claimed that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy had been considering sacking Postecoglou regardless of the Lilywhites' Europa League fate, and the move has now been confirmed. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/spurs-sack-ange-postecoglou-daniel-levy-thomas-frank/blte3d6a132dd72b55b" target="_blank">Tottenham announced that they had parted ways with the Australian coach</a>, much to the anger of Premier League legend Shearer, who couldn't believe Levy's decision.</p>
