WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Morgan and the Wave fell in their home-opener, which arrived one week after claiming the<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/alex-morgan-uswnt-nwsl-san-diego-wave-gotha-fc/blte9c330e2ff74254a" target="_blank"> NWSL Challenge Cup over Gotham FC,</a> to the Kansas City Current 2-1. The USWNT star failed to get on the scoresheet after managing to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/alex-morgan-nwsl-challenge-cup-uswnt/blt8515d00b8cadff7a" target="_blank">net the winner in her previous outing.</a></p><p>Clark, meanwhile, had 27 points in their opening match as the top-seeded Hawkeyes claimed a 26-point victory. Expected to be the No.1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, this tournament is Clark's last hoorah in an Iowa jersey as she looks to end her historic collegiate career on the highest note possible.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>In her 12th tournament appearance over the weekend, she scored her 339th point for Iowa in bracket play. She's averaged 28.3 points-per-game for the Hawkeyes in her historic college career, but across four years at the NCAA level, she scored 3,798 points for Iowa; a Division-One record.
