Macron has taken a personal interest in Mbappe's career and has <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/french-president-emmanuel-macron-maximum-pressure-real-madrid-release-kylian-mbappe-paris-olympics/blt3f9afc76d4ec23f2" target="_blank">seemingly already spoken to Real Madrid over his hope that the striker will be able to represent France at the 2024 Olympics</a> as an over-age player. It is as yet unclear if the Spanish club will allow that to happen.
