Following the agonising defeat at Stamford Bridge, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/watch-180-teenage-sensation-luke-littler-three-darts-man-utd-harry-maguire-christian-eriksen/blt6d54b7cd92790031" target="_blank">United fan Littler</a>, 17, said that setback fuelled him to glory in the Premier League Darts tournament in Manchester later that night.

WATCH THE CLIP

After backing up his Premier League Darts win in Belfast last week, Littler told Sky Sports on Thursday: “We were watching backstage, we [Man Utd] were winning 3-2 and we conceded a penalty and Cole Palmer scored and then he scored again. I was in a bad mood, I was like: ‘I’m winning this now’. It gave me motivation. There were a few Manchester United fans on the walkout so I was glad to win.”

WHAT LUKE LITTLER SAID

While Littler is now top of the eight-player darts tournament over the course of 2024, his beloved United are struggling this season and their feint Champions League qualification hopes may be over as they are 11 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa. Moreover, manager Erik ten Hag is under huge pressure to keep his job after an underwhelming campaign.

Littler is next in Premier League Darts action in Birmingham on April 11 whereas United, who are down in sixth place, host bitter rivals and Premier League title hopefuls Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
