<p>Malacia, who joined United from Feyenoord two years ago, has not featured since May 2023 and missed the entirety of last season because of a knee injury. The Netherlands international <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/tyrell-malacia-absent-for-man-utd-for-so-long-knee-surgery/blta6a77393b24c08c7" target="_blank">underwent a "complicated" operation</a> and it has been a long road back to fitness.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Malacia <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/tyrell-malacia-returns-man-utd-training-full-back-recovery-programme/blt85d2b9400ed5b39f" target="_blank">finally made an appearance in training again during the summer</a> and coach Erik ten Hag said last month that he was "progressing really well", and now <a href="https://www.vi.nl/nieuws/malacia-is-bijna-weer-voetballer-rentree-bij-man-utd-heel-dichtbij" target="_blank"><em>Voetbal International</em></a> reports that he is in full training and almost fit once again. He is on schedule to return to the field before the end of October.</p>

<p>The 25-year-old managed 39 appearances for the Old Trafford club in all competitions in his debut season in England, 29 of which were as a starter. The Feyenoord academy graduate has featured nine times for Netherlands.</p>
