Deco, 46, spoke to the press ahead of Barcelona's clash with Cadiz on Saturday evening. The former midfielder explained that there are no plans for current boss Xavi to change his mind regarding his future, after the Spaniard announced he would be leaving the club at the end of the season.

WHAT HAPPENED?

"At the moment there is no plan for Xavi to change his mind; if there is, we will talk," Deco said.He was later asked about the positive run the team has been on since Xavi announced his departure, where he added: "The peace of mind comes from the results. The team is winning. We have already talked a lot about Xavi. It has been a personal issue. We don't have much to talk about. We have to think about the games."

WHAT DECO SAID

Speaking at a <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/xavi-quit-barcelona-manager-confirms-leaving-end-of-season-in-shock-announcement-after-catalans-ship-five-villarreal/blt5e11dda249a33995#cs61f08f2b5e6d0be4" target="_blank">post-match press conference</a> back in January, the Barcelona boss explained his decision and why he would be leaving. He said: "I will leave Barcelona in June. We have reached a point of no return. It's time for change. As a [Barca fan], I think that it's time to leave. I spoke with the board and the club today. I will leave on the 30th of June."Since then, however, the Catalan club have been in fine form. Barca are currently on a 12-game unbeaten run and have only lost one game since Xavi made the announcement.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

As Xavi's exit looms over the club, all the players can do is concentrate on ending the season well. They currently sit eight points behind rivals Real Madrid at the top of La Liga, while the second leg of their Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain is approaching. The Catalan club secured a dramatic 3-2 win in the French capital on Wednesday, as they look to build on this performance next week.
