Anonymous Lukaku had just 22 touches against Liverpool - fewer than Mignolet & De Gea!

Romelu Lukaku endured a frustrating afternoon against Liverpool on Saturday as he failed to continue his impressive goalscoring run in the 0-0 draw at Anfield.

Indeed, the Belgian had the chance to create history for the Reds and become the first United player ever to score in his first eight Premier League matches for the club.

It wasn't to be, however, as the former Chelsea striker was well-marshalled by Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip over the 90 minutes.

And to add further disappointment to Lukaku's afternoon, he touched the ball just 22 times - the lowest of any player on the pitch who started the match, including the two goalkeepers.

David De Gea, whose incredible save to deny Matip helped ensure his side earned a point from the match, had 46 touches of the ball while Simon Mignolet had 27.

Despite his lack of touches, Lukaku did manage to get a shot on goal during the game although he was denied by Mignolet in the first half.

That miss epitomised his dismal recent record against Jurgen Klopp's men, with Lukaku having now scored just one goal in his last eight league games against Liverpool.
