Arsenal fans go wild as Yaya Sanogo returns

Arsenal fans have jokingly got excited at the return of Yaya Sanogo, with the striker named in the club's Under-23 side to face Tottenham on Friday.

Torres released from hospital

The 24-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Charlton Athletic, hasn't played in 2016-17, with Arsene Wenger cagey over the reason for his absence.

The Gunners boss revealed back in December that he couldn't explain what was wrong with the Frenchman, and that the details of an apparent injury were "confidential".

His agent has been similarly guarded over Sanogo's continued absence although he is now finally back on the pitch as he prepares to take on Spurs in the Under-23 clash.

And fans of the north Londoners were quick to jump on the news, with many reacting to Sanogo's name being on the team-sheet, despite the presence of the likes of Mathieu Debuchy and Carl Jenkinson.

Sanogo has made a total of 11 Premier League appearances for Arsenal over his career, although hasn't featured for the Gunners in the league since a 2-1 defeat to Swansea in November 2014.

He has spent loan spells at Crystal Palace, Ajax and most recently Charlton Athletic, although has not made a single appearance in the current campaign.
