Meanwhile, now having played a game more, Mikel Arteta's men made it difficult for themselves by suffering their fifth league loss of the season in the 3-0 home defeat against Brighton.
Hence, the Gunners would now rely heavily on City dropping points while not being able to afford to drop any more themselves.
