UEFA has confirmed the amount of money paid to clubs who participated in last season’s Champions League competition, with Leicester City earning more than champions Real Madrid.
The European governing body pays each club a set amount of money for participating in the Champions League, and bonuses are then accrued by progressing through the various rounds.

HOW MUCH CAN TEAMS EARN?
Every team that participates in the Champions League group stage receives a set payment of €12.7 million.
Those who qualified for the groups via the play-offs - Ludogorets, Borussia Monchengladbach, Celtic, Manchester City, Rostov, AS Monaco, Legia Warsaw, FC Kobenhavn, Porto and Dinamo last season - receive an extra €2m.
UEFA then issues bonuses; teams receive €1.5m per win, and €500,000 per group stage draw. Those who qualify for the Round of 16 receive an extra €6m, while the quarter-finalists and semi-finalists collect €6.5m and €7.5m each respectively.
The winners of the competition receive €15.5m, while the runners-up earn an extra €11m.
A team could theoretically earn €57.2m, if they qualify directly for the group stage and win every game en route to lifting the trophy.
WHAT IS MARKET POOL?
Market Pool dictates how much money teams receive based on their respective television markets.
The Premier League is the richest in the world when it comes to TV rights, and thus Leicester City - the English champions heading into the competition - received more money in Market Pool than the likes of PSG, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
A number of factors influence the payout; the value of the television rights within each countries' market, where the qualified team finished in their league the previous season and their performance in the competition.

Juventus earned the most money of any team competing in last season's Champions League, a just reward for an almost triumphant campaign that saw them lose 4-1 to Real Madrid in the final in Cardiff. Amazingly, Leicester City earned more than winners Real, by a nose.
Manchester City just miss out on the top 10, after earning just over €50m for their progress to the Round of 16.
At the other end of the spectrum, FC Basel were the poorest team in the competition, earning a mere €16,268,000, as they finished bottom of Group A with just two points, behind Ludogorets, PSG and Arsenal.
