Diego Costa has notched his 50th Premier League goal for Chelsea, reaching that landmark quicker than former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
The Spain international hit a half-century in a meeting with Southampton at Stamford Bridge, with his first of two efforts in a 4-2 win taking him to that mark.
It has taken him just 85 games to get there, having notched at an impressive rate for the Blues since arriving from Atletico Madrid in 2014.

Suarez took 86 games to reach 50 goals for Liverpool, with those exploits helping to earn him a move to Barcelona.

Costa has also beaten a number of other iconic figures from the modern era to a notable goal return.
His record is better than the likes of Ian Wright, Michael Owen, Didier Drogba, Carlos Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 28-year-old opened his account on his debut against Burnley in August 2014, with his only hat-trick to date arriving a few weeks later against Swansea City.
Chelsea will be hoping that there are many more goals to come as they chase down the Premier League amid intense speculation surrounding Costa’s future.
