Fantasy Football: Crystal Palace land four players in Goal Team of the Week after Leicester demolition

The Premier League season is winding to a close, but there has certainly been no shortage of interesting storylines or matches. In particular, the relegation battle continues to be the primary source of drama as Stoke managed a surprise draw with Liverpool whilst West Brom and Southampton both managed much needed wins, and Crystal Palace all but secured their place in the top flight next season.

Naturally, a 5-0 win means almost all Eagles players scored points and, as such, have landed an impressive four players in our Team of the Week. See who else made the cut below!

GK: Hugo Lloris - Tottenham - 1 Game, 5 Saves, 1 Clean Sheet = 9 Points

DF: Patrick van Aanholt - Crystal Palace - 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Clean Sheet = 14 Points

It’s been a couple of years since van Aanholt was a Fantasy darling at Sunderland, though he seems to be on track to becoming one again. The goal was his third in the last 10 matches and he also notched his second clean sheet in as many weeks. The fact that Palace have just two matches left makes owning van Aanholt a little more difficult but, considering both are against bottom five attacks, it may just be worth it.

DF: Mamadou Sakho - Crystal Palace - 1 Game, 1 Assist, 1 Clean Sheet = 10 Points

DF: Leighton Baines - Everton - 1 Game, 1 Assist, 1 Clean Sheet - 10 Points

DF: Kieran Trippier - Tottenham - 1 Game, 1 Assist, 1 Clean Sheet = 10 Points

MF: Dusan Tadic - Southampton - 1 Game, 2 Goals = 14 Points

Scoring two goals in a match that keeps your chances at staying up alive is definitely enough to make the Serbian our Player of the Week. After struggling for form, it seems Tadic has finally won his spot in Southampton’s XI and that is reflected by his goal tally, which is his second highest since joining the club. No one will be rushing out to sign him to their Fantasy side but, if the Saints manage to stay up, it will be in massive thanks to Tadic.

MF: Raheem Sterling - Manchester City - 1 Game, 3 Assists = 11 Points

MF: James McArthur - Crystal Palace - 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Assist = 11 Points

MF: Wilfried Zaha - Crystal Palace - 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Assist = 11 Points

What a run Zaha has been on since returning from his knee injury with four goals and three assists. Those performances are sorely needed by Palace as well, seeing as they have yet to win a match without the Ivorian thus far this season. Like with van Aanholt earlier, Zaha playing just one match this week hurts his value, but it’s hard to not own him based on his form and easy remaining fixtures.

MF: Paul Pogba - Manchester United - 1 Game, 1 Goal = 8 Points

FWD: Harry Kane - Tottenham - 1 Game, 1 Goal = 7 Points

Unlike Zaha, Kane has not recovered well from his recent injury (ankle). He does have two goals in the last two matches, but he has certainly not been at his best in either of them. Even with the injury, his ownership and captaincy rates will both remain very high as people try to recapture the magic of last season when Kane scored eight goals in the last three matches. Whether or not he’ll get back to his free-firing best before the end of the season remains to be seen but, all things considered, it would be hard to not own Kane for the run in.
