GK: Sergio Rico - £6.1m,Sevilla
DEF: Lukasz Piszczek - £5.8m, Borussia Dortmund
There are plenty of defenders with decent chances at clean sheets but few who are genuine goal threats. Piszczek is one such defender. With four goals already in the Bundesliga (most at his position) the attacking upside is inarguable. The Poland international is currently on track to recover from his back injury but fortunately, in the Goal game, you can wait until Dortmund announce their line-up to decide if he should be in yours.
DEF: Stefan Savic - £5.9m, Atletico Madrid
DEF: Sergio Escudero - £6.1m, Sevilla
GOALMID: Angel Di Maria - £7.7m, Paris Saint-Germain
Di Maria has been disappointing in Fantasy despite having terrific underlying stats this season. He currently ranks top 10 in assists, shots on target, successful crosses, and chances created in Ligue 1. He already sits top 10 in points in the Champions League and could be on the verge of a breakout when his performance to points ratio normalises.
MID: Joshua Kimmich - £5.9m, Bayern Munich
MID: Thomas Lemar - £6.3m, Monaco
MID: Yannick Carrasco - £6.5m, Atletico Madrid
GettyFOR: Lionel Messi - £8.9m, Barcelona
Lionel Messi is exceptional at football, Fantasy and otherwise. How good? Well, with his 10 goals and two assists, the gap between Messi and the second highest scoring player Dries Mertens (23) is the same gap as Mertens to the 56th ranked player. In some formats high priced players are not worth it but this is not one of those.
FOR: Robert Lewandowski - £8.5m, Bayern Munich
FOR: Ousmane Dembele - £7.0m, Borussia Dortmund
There are lots of excellent players still available from the Bundesliga which has, somehow, led to Dembele being lost in the cracks. He is currently the ninth most owned Dortmund player despite being tied for the most points at the club. How he has continued to fly under the radar while leading the German league in assists (eight) and ranking second in the Champions League (five) is something of a puzzle. Even the matchup is terrific as the Frenchman will face Benfica who were tied for the most goals conceded of any team who advanced to the round of 16. Despite being a left-field option, Dembele is a must own and is, perhaps, an even sneakier captain option.
