The India U-19 team defeated the Singapore U-19 team 7-2 in the first friendly match between the two sides held at Bambolim stadium in Goa on Monday.
The away side opened the scoring as soon as the 2nd minute but Edmund Lalringka scored to equalize in the 7th minute before pulling India in front in the 24th minute.
Singapore's last attempt at claiming a victory seemed to be when they levelled proceedings in the 27th minute but the Indian colts had other ideas. Roshan opened his tally to take the lead back for India in the 34th minute and this time Edmund helped set up the goal.
The goals came thick and fast after India took the lead and a fourth goal for the home side in the 37th minute completed Edmund's well deserved hattrick.

The team had started to enjoy themselves on the pitch and it showed with a flurry of goals coming from the men in blue. Edmund turned provider with three minutes to go for half -time and Roshan converted the chance to make it five.
Before the referee blew the whistle for the break, Lalnuntluanga registered his name on the scoresheet as he scored off a rebound to make it six.
India continued their domination after the break, with coach Floyd Pinto looking animated as ever at the touchline.
Although rain managed to have an effect on what was a scintillating affair in the first half, India managed to add a seventh goal in the 87th minute with Edmund setting up Roshan for his hattrick. Edmund Lalringka, with three goals and as many assists in 90 minutes, was the star of the game which ended 7-2 for India.
The two teams meet again on June 21 at the same venue.
