France boss Didier Deschamps says "no-one is really angry" with Kylian Mbappe following the Paris Saint-Germain forward's costly penalty miss in a Euro 2020 last-16 defeat to Switzerland.
The reigning world champions will not be adding a continental prize to their global crown, with a thrilling clash with the Swiss in Bucharest dashing their dreams for another year.
Despite leading 3-1 with only nine minutes remaining, Les Bleus were taken all the way to a shootout and saw 22-year-old superstar Mbappe fluff his lines from 12 yards at the end of a goalless tournament for him.
What has been said?
Deschamps told reporters after an eventful evening in Romania: "The whole group is united in the dressing room.
"No-one talks about 'you made this mistake' or 'you made that mistake.' Kylian knows his responsibility.
Next Match
"Of course Kylian, even if he didn’t score a goal, he was decisive in many actions that we had, then he took the responsibility to take this penalty and no-one is really angry with him.
"I talked to the players, we know the strength of this squad, of this team, we had many magnificent moments together today.
"It really hurts, there’s a lot of sadness and, well, there were many things that we did really well in this match, but not everything and if we think too much about this match it won’t help too much.
"This Euro was really difficult, it’s not an excuse, and now there’s the last European champion and the last world champion who have to go home, it hurts but we have to accept it."

Prior to Switzerland staging a stirring fightback against the French, Croatia had done likewise to force extra-time in their meeting with Spain, only to eventually run out of steam in a 5-3 defeat.
Luis Enrique's side will fancy their chances of going all the way, but it is a case of back to the drawing board for Mbappe and Co as France pick the bones out of a disappointing campaign.
Their PSG frontman will get many more shots at major international glory, but it remains to be seen who he will be plying his club trade for when those tournaments are taken in as he is yet to extend a contract at Parc des Princes that has just 12 months left to run.
