Neil Taylor was not a popular figure on Twitter last night after his late challenge on Seamus Coleman broke the Ireland international's leg.
The Aston Villa defender was sent off in the 0-0 draw while playing for Wales, with many football fans choosing to vent their anger online at the poor tackle.

However, the Twitter users targeted their attacks at the wrong person - with Altrincham ex-councillor Neil Taylor receiving a torrent of abuse from outraged supporters.
Despite receiving a number of complaints about his performance for Wales, the politician took the messages in good spirit, denying that he was the footballer.
Taylor was amusingly called a d**khead by one fan, but asserted that he was not in Dublin playing for Wales, but instead had "Been out for a curry and beer to celebrate wedding anniversary ;)"
In fact, the politician of the same name admitted that he does not even like football.
The football-playing Neil Taylor will now miss Wales' upcoming qualifier with Serbia due to suspension, while Seamus Coleman underwent surgery after fracturing his right tibia and fibula.
