Talk of a swap deal involving Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar is a "foolish" attempt to divert attention away from Real Madrid's current plight, says former president Ramon Calderon.

After Saturday's 1-0 Liga defeat to Villarreal left Madrid 19 points behind Barcelona, Spanish radio programme  El Larguero  suggested Los Blancos could allow Ronaldo to leave in order to bring former Barcelona forward Neymar back to Spain.

Real Madrid could use Gareth Bale as bait in order to land Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, claims  Don Balon .

And they would be prepared to sacrifice their record signing to convince Liverpool into selling the Egypt star.

Rush fears £200m bid for Salah

Livrepool legend Ian Rush fears that Real Madrid and Barcelona could come after Mohamed Salah with a massive bid of bid £200 million.

“On current form I would place Mo Salah ahead of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo . He’s better than them at the moment," Rush is quoted as saying by the Mirror

“Mo is also the African Player of the Year, which – considering the standard of their players throughout Europe – is a great honour.

“There’s already been talk of Real Madrid looking at him – and who can blame them? In today’s inflated market, it wouldn’t surprise me if Liverpool one day received a £200m bid for him.

“Hopefully, he is happy where he is – after all, he only arrived last summer.

“There’s a time and a place to sell a player if the right money comes in, but, for Liverpool, it’s certainly not now."
