Double the fun - stats show Rashford already twice as good as he was last season

Marcus Rashford has enjoyed an electric start to the season for Manchester United, already bettering last season’s level in half the time.

The forward set up a goal for Romelu Lukaku in Sunday’s Premier League fixture against West Brom – the opener for Jose Mourinho’s side – to record his seventh assist of the campaign.

It was the 16th effort that the 20-year-old has had a hand in this season, more than he achieved last term, when he produced 11 goals and four assists.

This time around, he has already netted nine times, while his assist to Lukaku at the Hawthorns was his seventh.

Rashford has been most prolific in the Premier League, where he has four goals and four assists, yet his ratio in the Champions League is superior in terms of finding the net, having struck three times in only six outings. He also has two goals and two assists in a couple of EFL Cup appearances to his name.

Meanwhile, Lukaku who was the recipient of the England attacker's inch-perfect cross, has now had a hand in eight goals in eight games against the Baggies.
