Call them what you want, but 'Triple Espresso' is the new self-proclaimed nickname to describe the USWNT's attacking trio of Trinity Rodman, Sophia Smith and Mallory Swanson.
Punchy and electric, the three forwards for the USWNT have been leading the way in goals in the Paris Olympics. And while there has been many suggestions for nicknames for the USWNT stars, on Thursday the trio appeared on the TODAY Show and revealed that they have come up with their own nickname: "Triple Espresso."
Others have floated monikers such as "Triple Threat" and "Trident" and "The Holy Trinity" but Smith, Rodman and Swanson took the nickname game into their own hands.
"We have a proposal for our trio name to be 'Triple Espresso.' So we're going to put that out into the air and let people run with that, because we like that as well," Rodman said.
The USWNT will play Brazil in the Gold Medal match on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET.
