The Daily Telegraph claims that a Premier League club has approached Zorc, with the north Londoners believed to be looking at appointing a director of football.

Former Arsenal winger Marc Overmars is another who has been mooted and when asked about the role, Wenger jokingly suggested the main responsibility is to direct road traffic.

He told reporters: "No, director of football, I don't know what it means.

"Is it someone who stands on the road and directs the players left and right? I never understand what it means, director of football.

Lehmann: Alexis would fit Bayern

"I'm manager of Arsenal and as long as I am manager I will decide what happens on the technical front. That's it."

Wenger, whose future remains uncertain at Emirates Stadium, again gave little away over his own situation, answering "no" when asked if there were any further developments.
